Rising prices, Democratic Party: Government measures do not help consumers

schedule10:42 - 17 Mars, 2022

schedule 10:42 - 17 Mars, 2022

The postponement of the interpellation requested by the DP with the Prime Minister Edi Rama for the increase of prices has brought debates in the Assembly. Secretary of the PD Parliamentary Group Arbi Agalliu stated before the Assembly that the majority did not take into account the PD proposals. He did not consider the measures taken by the government as they were foreseen in the budget and according to Agalliu do not help the consumer.

“As the secretary of the PD parliamentary group, I am here to convey the concern. As a group, we have asked the Prime Minister in the interpellation regarding the economic situation in the country. We have a significant increase in prices. DP has made several proposals starting from the reduction of VAT for some basket products or the reduction of the fiscal burden for other products. These proposals were not considered.

We also face today the abuse of certain sectors. We do not agree with the government measures, they were not measures because they were programmed in the budget, the rest are facades because they do not help the citizens. “Rama is obliged to come or delegate someone to give an answer to the deputies”, he said.
