Ramazan Rraja to remain in prison

The Special Court has left in prison Ramazan Rraja, who was arrested for the assassination of former prosecutor Arjan Ndoja and his friend, Aleksandër Laho. The session took place behind closed doors, while ABC News journalist Ermal Vija reports that Rraja has denied any connection to the event.

Today, five more people have also been arrested, while only Plaurent Dervishaj, who turns out to be in Dubai, is still being sought. The authorities have requested his extradition, but so far it has not been possible.

Rraha, the nephew of MP Rrahman Rraja was arrested two days ago, after he was caught moving with a weapon without a permit in the place called Ura e Gjole. A few months ago, Ramazan Rraja’s apartment was searched twice, as he was suspected of being a person who knew about the assassination of former prosecutor Arjan Ndoj.

The SPAK issued an order for his compulsory escort to testify, but at the time of the search, Rraja was not found in the apartment, and appeared a short time later. After being held for several hours by the Tirana police, Rraja was released.
