Prime Minister Edi Rama held this Wednesday an activity regarding the loans that will be given to the new families of doctors, soldiers and State Police employees, promising that the interest of these loans will be paid by the state.
In his speech during the activity regarding the implementation of the favorable home loan program for these special categories, the Head of Government called on Albanians not to migrate, underlining that who chooses to invest for their future in Albania, will emerge victorious.
“It is worth retelling, an episode lived a while ago with an Albanian boy, who had finished his higher studies in Switzerland, excellently and who had a job offer from an international organization in Geneva, he asked me to meet by message and finally, seeing the insistence and knowing that he is a boy who has excelled in his studies, I found the opportunity to meet him for a few minutes.
He wanted an opinion from me, because, he told me, I can start working in an international organization, with a salary of 5-6 thousand francs, but as times have come in Europe and Switzerland, it is a salary for me to live normally, but at the end of the month I have nothing left.
I am tempted to return to Albania, because despite the fact that I will receive a lower salary, I will have a normal monthly life. In conclusion, I told him, this is not something that anyone can say, but I decide for myself. Wait for the signal, I told him, after a few days he told me; the signal came to me, I will come to Albania. What we are doing today is important in this regard.
People who dedicate themselves to a career related to public service need to see the perspective, I understand the young people who until recently had a hard time looking at the perspective of the State Police, the Armed Forces, because the work is extremely challenging, it was the worst paid army, not of NATO, but also of the region and by a margin.
Today, it is at the highest salary level in the region, our goal is to bring it to the NATO average, the salary for the military will continue to increase, until we reach the NATO average. It is a matter of perspective for young people, who should see the Armed Forces not only as an opportunity to serve the country, but also as an opportunity to have a safe perspective.
The same applies to the police force, this home loan program for those who have young families is a program that makes it possible for those without this program to buy a house. Having this loan with no interest, changes the panorama.
From the accounts that the Ministry of Finance has made, this is a winning program for those who participate in the program. It is only the beginning, both we and the applicants will learn, next year we will continue with the granting of these loans. We are also looking at the expansion to become your home. The same goes for doctors. In Albania, studies are almost free. But they are not free because they cost so little, but it is the government that pays the costs of doctors’ studies.
For me, it is unimaginable that medical students would refuse, protest, return this huge investment to this country for a short time. The government finances the study of doctors to serve the people in the Republic of Albania. We must continue to expand these opportunities. Whoever invests for Albania and whoever invests for their future in Albania, makes a winning investment, that’s for sure.
Comparing the salary table between Albania and Germany, when it comes to serving here as a doctor, soldier, or mason, is a false comparison. There are indeed differences, but the large salary in Germany does not tell you everything, neither how much tax, insurance they will receive from that salary, nor how you will live with that salary. At the end of the month, the result is that you are living in a foreign country, working in a position and job that is not the best job you can do. The result is minimal.
This program has been opened, it is a program that will continue for years, the loans you will receive will be very long-term, the interest will be paid by the state. This is the best and safest way, it gives you more peace of mind than living in a foreign country, there may be more things than here, but 99% of things you can’t touch, the prices are too high high.
Albania has nothing else to do but go higher. Albania has come out of the vicious circle, one step forward, two steps back, just look at the lek today, the others can be taken with suspicion.
