Prime Minister Edi Rama says that free coastline will be guaranteed for vacationers regardless of whether the beaches are private or not. Regarding the tourist season, the head of the government said that there was a 150 percent increase in new tourists compared to years.
“About 150 percent is the increase between new and old tourists. In certain places, Palasa, Ksamili, there has been a jump in prices. But this is a matter of the market in the end. We will set another criterion for the withdrawal of private tents.
The number will decrease, but they want to set high prices, let them decide. We want to ensure that the frontline is the public’s. We don’t want to leave it like that… There are also small beaches, but always a criterion for decision is that the first line is free.
We will set another criterion for the contribution that each operator must give to the municipalities. It’s not just the bed fee. We will fight informality more. If we look at customs, the increase in consumer goods is very large.
Tourism is difficult, it is competition”, said Rama.
