From the Regional Transport Summit for strategic projects that took place in Tirana, Prime Minister Edi Rama also spoke about the Open Balkans meeting that will be held today and tomorrow in Ohrid.

“It is a day that starts here today with transport, road safety, the sustainability of the development of our entire transport system and that continues in Ohrid with another Balkan Summit open in order to move as quickly as possible in order to realize the movement of free of goods people capital and services and implementation as soon as 4 freedoms in the EU. These 4 freedoms are without question what is vital for us, what is vital for security in this region what is vital for peace and conflict resolution in this area of Europe. “I am glad that today we have entered another phase thanks to the European development plan”, said Rama.

The head of government has again demanded EU attention on the Western Balkans.

“To waste less time because we have no time to lose. We have much less time to lose than the time the EU has. The progress of the Western Balkans should be part of the attention and support of the structures of the European Union.

“Because waiting for several years for the Tirana-Durrës railway segment due to the bureaucracy in the European institutions creates frustration and goes against the great common goals and the great goal in itself of the European Union”.

The Prime Minister also touched on the blue corridor project, emphasizing that they are in an advanced stage.

“We are an advanced stage of the blue corridor. It is under construction, other segments are in the final stage of the international tender and in the framework of this third mandate we will look at the fruits of this large construction site

“We hope that the EU will support Montenegro because if the segment that connects Croatia with Albania through Montenegro remains undeveloped, a part of this corridor will be lost.”
