Prime Minister Edi Rama held a joint conference with the Ambassador of the European Union in Albania, Luigi Soreca, said that once again this report showed the progress made by our country. According to him, this is a roadmap that shows not only the progress made but also the work and problems that need to be fulfilled in order to be a country with full standards alongside other EU countries.

“The progress report is the guiding document, while all the others are interferences in progress of a political nature.

First, the report objectively seals that Albania comes from an indisputable electoral process in terms of integrity in accordance with the standards, that Albania has continued to progress in key reforms that are state-building reforms such as justice reform where vetting is highlighted as a success story, war against organized crime and corruption is defined as an advancing war.

Respect for human rights is reconfirmed as a value of the democratic processes in the country. A gender-balanced policy is appreciated, our efforts to align our progress with the EU are appreciated, and all efforts to engage in the pandemic progress.

It is also a document that highlights both the problems and what we need to fix. This process is not done because they demand it from us and impose it on us in Paris and Brussels, we do it for ourselves and for other generations in this country to have a place that functions as a dignified place with other countries and this is a process of difficult and with many challenges, but it is the only way, there is no bypass or avoidance that leads us to where Albania deserves “, said Rama.
