Prime Minister Edi Rama has traveled to the United Arab Emirates for a two-day visit, where he will also be present at the “World Government Summit 2023”.
In a statement to the country’s media, the head of the government said that it is the first time he participates in such a summit.
The head of government emphasizes cooperation with each other as the only way to face the challenges while adding that we should never treat them in isolation as countries and continents.
Q: Thank you for attending the World Government Summit. I wanted to know what your impressions are of the World Government Summit, which is now in its tenth anniversary.
What are your impressions?
Prime Minister Edi Rama: It was the first time for me and I attended the session as soon as I arrived. It looked very nice.
Very good organization and as far as I followed it, I found it very interesting regarding the topics covered.
Q: The Government Summit is a global platform for collaboration between governments, industries, the world of art and innovation, a place where people come together to exchange ideas and propose new solutions to problems.
Why do you think global cooperation should be promoted for various problems facing the world today?
Prime Minister Edi Rama: More and more we are facing situations and events that are more powerful than us, if we address them in isolation as countries and continents.
As such they require comprehensive actions and we hope to realize these before disasters wipe us off the face of the earth.
Q: We know you since you were the mayor of Tirana. You conceptualized the city of Tirana and we really liked your work.
What is your vision and innovation for the government of the country?
Prime Minister Edi Rama: Nowadays, the way to govern the country is determined by the way we embrace the new things every day. This new era of new things is challenging the way we govern.
As a result, the more we interact with each other and collaborate with each other, the more we can use technology in a way that we collaborate with each other.
This is what we must do, to be relatively safe in the face of challenges.
Q: You lead a government cabinet that consists mainly of women. Do you think this brings quality to governance in your view?
Prime Minister Edi Rama: First of all, I don’t want to look like I’m lecturing others about what’s happening in Albania right now.
Regarding the advantages of this, I would like to quote Margaret Thatcher who says “if you want to talk, you do it with a man, but if you want to finish a job, it is done by a woman”.
