Prime Minister Edi Rama has assailed this Saturday Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta, accusing them of having turned Kavaja into an ugly city.
During his speech in an electoral meeting ahead of the May 14 local elections, the Head of Government declared on the years that Berisha was in power, Kavaja city was placed at the disposal of a band of predators.
“When I was entering the road that brings you here, I remembered how the entrance of Kavaja was when we took office and how that entrance that really seemed at that time as an entrance to a hearth of despair, oblivion, ruin, was all of Kavaja.
I mean the views of Kavaja and all the work, projects, efforts, to start her big change.
I remember that when Kavaja was back in their hands, the only problems we had with Kavaja were no longer how to finance one more project, how to open another green space and how to create something new, but were permits in the sand, granted in defiance of every law and public interest and every sense of beauty and the future.
The only thing I remember in those years when they took over was how again the municipality of Kavaja was put at the disposal of a group that works like a band of predators. Kavaja returned to the dirt, not even the garbage was collected anymore and I am here to tell them to keep voting for them,” stated Rama.
