Prime Minister Edi Rama, speaking about the new population and housing census, said that he is proud of the fact that our country has integrated minorities. He emphasized that Albania has the most advanced European legislation regarding minorities and that no one can lecture him on this matter.

“I am very proud of many things about Albania, but one of the things that makes me the most is that Albania has the most advanced European legislation. It is in the first category, for legislation on minorities. We made the new legislation without anyone asking us, but we wanted an optimal, radiant legislation and for that I am very proud.

Second, I am proud of the way Albania has integrated and treated minorities without discrimination. If there are problems for someone or some in another ethnic community, they are problems that are the same in ethnic Albanian communities.

There is nothing different. There is not a single minority who says that I have a problem related to the fact that I belong to another ethnicity, and you cannot find this in anyone who is of Albanian nationality.

Therefore, we know very well that there are things to improve in every aspect for minorities, for their lives and well-being, as there are for all communities with Albanian nationality, but we are in a position that we can say with full mouth that lessons nobody can give to Albania for the minorities.” , concluded the prime minister./abcnews.al
