Publisher Henri Cili denies all the charges and clarifies everything about his arrest

Publisher Henri Cili responded to the charges made by the Permeti Prosecutor’s Office, while casting strong accusations against the justice system, as he came out at a press conference to clarify the truth of his arrest

He says he has not met or bribed any senior justice official particularly for the Aliko case, for which he has been rumored. He even adds that he had never influenced on an official about a case.

As far as clients are concerned, he states that as a partner of his law studio he did not act in violation of the law

“Permeti court has dropped the arrest measure, and then  decided that I would be released on my own recognizance. The first charge is fraud. As a partner legal studio, I did not commit fraud. It is a legal relation between the studio and other people with legal services.  Second charge is forgery. There is no forged document and I have not sign any such document. I have not concealed my assets. I not make any contracts since we were in negotiation phase. We have not concluded in any contract. Fourth charge is unlawful influence. I have not met any judge or senior official. I’ve never had an impact on them,” said Henri Cili.

Investigative file

Publisher Henri Cili and businessman Seit Fishta were among those arrested by police in an operation called “Mezhgorani”.

Cili was arrested along with his lawyer Ilir Korbi and after being held for several hours at the Tirana Police Directorate then was taken to Gjirokastra.

Abcnews.al revealed the investigative file earlier today.

According to the investigative file, the investigation lasted from September 2019 to February 2020.
Henri Cili’s brother-in-law Gazmir Ajdinaj and Aliko brothers were at the center of the investigation. The group where Ajdinaj was involved ,dealt with explosives and drug trafficking. The group was active in Gjirokastra, Këlcyra and Shkodra.

The investigative file provided by abcnews.al shows that during the phone calls, the Aliko brothers’ father asked Gazmir Ajidinaj for help to release his sons, claiming they were demanding 1m euros.

According to the investigative file, it was found that on January 10, 2020, Henri Çili gave a attorney to act on his behalf, in association with Betim Shkupi for obtaining two properties in the form of a donation from the company “Fishta sh.pk” in Velipoja.

The Prosecution has found that on 3 February 2020, Henri Çili has communicated with the Director of the Shkodra Cadastre urging it to act swiftly on property registration, reports abcnews.al.

After receiving the properties and money, according to the prosecution, Henri Çili held a meeting on January 14, 2020 with a senior Justice System executive at a hotel in Tirana.
This meeting has been tapped also.
The wiretaps have revealed that Henri Çili asks the senior to resolve the Aliko and Yzeiraj brothers’ case as soon as possible and he assures them (Alikot) will be in the top 50 files to be reviewed, writes abcnews.al .

Gazmir Ajdinaj was arrested a few days later as police seized TNT in the car. The arrest came after the prosecution intercepted a call between Arbion Aliko from Burrel Prison and Gazmir Ajdinaj for TNT.

On February 23, 2020, Ajdinaj goes to Gjirokastra and receives some items from Adil and Amarildo Aliko. /abcnews.al
