Just as they had warned, the Albanian immigrants have come out in protest today in London. The protest was called after the statements of the Secretary of the Interior, Suella Braverman, who described the Albanian immigrants as “criminals.”
In the videos provided by abcnews.al, immigrants with national flags and placards in their hands are protesting at the Tower of London.
“We work, we pay taxes, we are Albanians”, “proud to be Albanian”, are some of the banners they hold in their hands.
Earlier, Braverman stated that the arrival of Albanian immigrants to British shores is an “invasion.”
This statement immediately brought strong reactions.Albanian emigrants living in England have accused the government of being used to justify the “failed” immigration policy in Britain and criticized the Ministry of the Interior that they were affecting the country’s security.
The Daily Mail has devoted an article to their reactions, where the Albanians state that they came to Britain for a better life and that it is unacceptable to be labeled as “bandits or thieves”.
Prime Minister Rama, during an interview given yesterday to Sky News, stated that he is waiting for the British government to apologize for the statements made by Secretary Braverman.
According to Prime Minister Rama, the British Home Secretary’s statements were made for electoral purposes.
