Police’s General Director reveals data on huge operation that solved six murders

General Director of the Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, gave this Thursday details about the coded “Never Forget” mega-operation.

In his speech during a conference for the media, Rrumbullaku stated that 6 murders have been solved, 15 arrest warrants have been issued, of which 12 have been executed, while 3 people have been declared wanted.

Meanwhile, he underlined that 5 cases of violent destruction of property have been discovered, as well as that these events took place in several cities of the country.

“It became possible to finalize the mega-operation. During this mega-operation, professional investigations were carried out that led to the clarification of 6 murders, 5 cases of destruction of property, 1 case of threatening the police, and the clarification of two murders committed in Greece. Elbasan Prosecutor’s Office has issued 15 arrest warrants, 12 have been executed, while 3 have been declared wanted.

On 17/10/2021, the Elbasan Prosecutor’s Office registered criminal proceedings for the crime of premeditated murder. From the study of investigative acts, on 7/10/2021/ in Peqin, Alban Semaku was killed.

The suspect is Artan Tafani, born and resident in Lushnje, from the investigations, it is suspected that this citizen, along with others, committed murders and other criminal events in the period 2021-2023, in several cities. The murder of Çajup Selimi, on 1/06/2021 in Tepelena, the murder of Fridan Xhaferi on 2/06/2021, the murder of Alban Semaku, on 16/10/2021, the murder of Albi Bashaliu, on 27/12/2021 in Peqin , the remaining attempted murder against Kujtim Mete. There were 5 cases of destruction with explosives”, said Rrumbullaku, among other things.
