Loading ...The Minister of Defense has announced a 30% salary increase in the ranks of the military over the next year from the general to the most recent soldier. He said that military education is a priority, emphasizing that Albania will follow the model of “West Point” in the US. He said that in this regard an expert from the US has come to our country.
“Starting from the first soldier to the general, the salary will increase up to 30% to become more dignified. This will make us more motivated for all types of surgeries. Secondly, the modernization of the armed forces is planned for 2022. In this budget are the connecting infrastructure projects. The most important project is the construction of the Kuçova tactical base. We need to do more than 10%. The budget has been foreseen and we are on the verge of starting the work for the construction of the security perimeter.
Military education is a priority for us. We paid a visit to West Point with Prime Minister Edi Rama and aim to model our academy according to the West Point model. We aim to open other programs such as information technologies and maritime navigation. There are two young bachelors.
Peleshi stated that maintenance procurement will be delegated to NATO because they have better purchasing power. He stressed that Albania will continue to participate in NATO and European Union operations, emphasizing that military forces are getting ready to participate in a mission in Iraq.
