Both reports, both of the majority and the opposition, recommend to the Assembly the granting of authorization to the request of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, which requires the removal of Sali Berisha’s immunity and his subsequent arrest. Both SP and PD argue that the accusations against Berisha are not political.
On the other hand, while the Assembly is expected to vote on the removal of the former prime minister’s immunity, the opposition has warned of a protest.
Under the motto “Today, never”, Berisha emphasized that this protest, which is scheduled to start at 09:30, will be held as the government is taking unconstitutional decisions.
Earlier on, SPAK addressed the Assembly with the request for the granting of the authorization to tighten the measure against Sali Berisha in his arrest, on December 12, after the former prime minister did not respect the first measure, that of the obligation to appear.
