Parliament of Albania has decided this Thursday that the bill for medical students be discussed with an accelerated procedure. During the session, it was decided with 64 votes in favor that the discussion will go through an accelerated procedure in the session of July 20, which is also the last session for this legislature.
Prime Minister Edi Rama announced Wednesday that the students who start the medical university this year will have to work five years after completing their studies in the country in order to obtain a diploma.
Current medical students will also sign the contract with the Ministry of Health and Education. But the obligation to do so differs from those who now start university for general medicine.
Students from the second to the fourth year will commit to work three years in the country, while those from the fifth and sixth year, two years.
If they do not agree, they can pay the actual cost of the school for the remaining years.
