Head of the Central Elections Commission (CEC), Ilirjan Celibashi has informed Sunday that electronic identification of voters is not being carried out in at least 532 polling stations.
In the first press conference related to the local elections, the Elections Commissioner stressed that there are 4469 polling stations that work normally with the electronic identification device, while 205 polling stations indicate that the device cannot receive information in real time.
“We inform about the numerous problems with electronic identification devices. There are 4469 polling stations that are functioning normally with the electronic identification device.
205 polling stations that, according to real-time information, show us that the device cannot receive real-time information from them.
There are 532 voting centers for which we do not have information, or all these PEI centers are not working, but it is a data that we do not have. We are communicating with these centers, to know if there the process is being developed with PEI or manually.
There are 532 that are assumed in the worst case that identification is not being done through the PEI device. We have tried to correct as much as possible to change the situation”, said Celibashi.
