OSCE Ambassador to Albania, Vincenzo Del Monaco declared this Friday from Shkoder that the OSCE-ODIHR is waiting the final result of the elections to come up with the official report and then he will do the necessary comments.
He further stated that they have already published a report on democracy and transparency and it is accessible to everyone on the web, adding that they wish the result be presented to the citizens as soon as possible.
“The evaluation of the election process is done by our ODIHR collaborators which is our human rights office. We have already published a report on democracy and transparency and it is accessible to everyone on the web. We are waiting for the final result that I wish to be presented to the public and the Albanian authorities very soon, I do not have an exact date. I hope there will be a rational understanding and I am waiting for the final report from ODIHR colleagues before making reasonable comments.
In the discussions we have at the central level in Tirana, I repeat several times the message of seriousness and concrete that the OSCE cannot but greet and support. You know that we are in support of transitional justice, who, among other things, fits with the title of the event Justice and Reconciliation, is something that makes us reflect positively on the maturity of Albanian democracy. “Because the goal is exactly this: to do something that is right and to do something as a sign of reconciliation so that we have an Albania that is always more aware and always stronger to face the challenges of the time,” the ambassador added./abcnews.al
