The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta during an interview for Radio France International, stated that he has faith that France and Germany will support Albania towards the EU stressing out that the country should be politically part of the EU.
Despite France’s negative decision regarding the negotiations with Albania Meta stated that Paris encourages and supports Albania in its efforts to integrate with the EU.
“France and Germany have been the main columns of the EU since its foundation. These two countries have taken on great responsibilities and are now laying the foundations for Europe’s future in the face of many challenges.
This is not the first time France has urged countries that aspire to become EU members to be more efficient and sustainable in completing reforms. ” states Meta , recalling that France wants the EU enlargement process to be better controlled and monitored before new members are welcomed. /abcnews.al
