The Prosecutor’s Office requested 25 years in prison for Arber Paplekaj, who was arrested for the murder of Pjerin Xhuvani in Elbasan.
The event took place in April 2021 in Elbasan, 4 days before the April 2021 parliamentary elections, where the main accused is former RENEA official, Arber Paplekaj.
The latter was part of the vote protection group, set up by the Democrats in the April elections, and went to the 5 Maji district after they found a person with voter lists and distributing money in exchange for votes.
The prosecutors have also requested punitive measures for 2 former deputy police directors in Elbasan, Albert Nushi and Niko Palla, for whom 8 months of probation has been requested. Also, for the 6 members of the “Eagles” forces, who were arrested for not intervening in time, the prosecution has requested 8 months of probation.
