The Special Court has sentenced to 14 years in prison the two associates of the businessman Rezart Taçi, Bledar Lilo and Artur Balla, who are accused of laundering millions of euros of the Italian mafia organization “Cosa Nostra” in Albania.
The Special Court sentenced Artur Balla, the brother-in-law of the businessman Taçi, to 11 years in prison, but because the process against him was conducted with a shortened trial, he benefited from a reduction of the sentence by a third and was finally sentenced to 7 years and four months in prison.
As for Lilo, the court imposed a sentence of 10 years in prison, but he will serve a sentence of 6 years and 8 months in prison.
The case of the businessman Rezart Taçi, who has been announced as an international wanted man, has been singled out.
