Special Prosecution against Organized Crime and Corruption (SPAK) has demanded Thursday 21 years in prison for Astrit Beqiri and Dhimitër Shkodrani. More specifically, SPAK requested 11 years in prison for Beqiri and 10 years for Shkodra.
The latter are accused by the Special Prosecution of money laundering and criminal group. However, their sentence will be reduced by 1/3 of due to the shortened trial.
Meanwhile, Beqiri and Shkodrani are part of a criminal group, which has trafficked over 1.650 kg of cocaine to European Union countries.
Regardless, the money obtained from the criminal activity was sent to Tetovo in North Macedonia, where it was received by the citizen Dhimitër Shkodrani. The latter then handed them over to the citizen Astrit Beqiri.
Beqiri is the brother-in-law of the leader of the group, Sokol Krasnici, arrested in Denmark, and had invested the money in various businesses./abcnews.al
