Minister of Foreign Affairs: Cyber-attacks happen also in USA

Foreign Minister Olta Xhaçka has spoken in Parliament about the cyber-attacks against Albania, stressing that the systems are functional. She said that the investments made have helped to prevent the data from being compromised, while she called for unity in the face of this situation.

“I heard it said that millions of euros have been wasted by the government because there is no defense capacity.

We are all witnesses that despite the massiveness of the attack, the systems were not only not destroyed, but are fully functional

Such attacks also occur in the USA and European Union countries and it is not always possible to prevent them.

The outcome of this attack would have been very different if we had not invested as much as we did in their defense,” said the minister.
