The President of the Republic Ilir Meta this Thursday on Martyrs’ Day paid homage by placing wreaths at the monument “Mother Albania”.
Representatives of the majority were also present at the homage to the martyrs along with the head of state.
From the images it seems that part of the ceremony are the Speaker of Parliament Lindita Nikolla, Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, the Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj have laid wreaths at “Mother Albania” in honor of the Martyrs of the Fatherland who gave their lives for his freedom.
In his speech, Meta said that it is not a day just to honor their sacrifices, but it is a day of reflection.
“It is a day not only to honor their sublime sacrifices, but a day of reflection to sanctify the sovereignty of the homeland, for a good future for the youth of Albania”, said Meta.
