The High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, and the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, will visit Tirana today. The visit will last two days, March 15 and 16. After Tirana, Skopje will be the next stop for Borrell and commissioner Várhelyi.
Initially, Borrell is expected to meet with Prime Minister Edi Rama before chairing the 12th EU-Albania Stabilization-Association Council in Tirana on March 16. Albania will be represented by Prime Minister Edi Rama. The European Commission will be represented by Commissioner Oliver Várhelyi.
After the Council, High Representative Borrell, Prime Minister Rama and Commissioner Várhelyi will hold a joint conference around 12:00. The Stabilization-Association Council meets once a year to carry out a general assessment on the implementation of the SAA and examines important issues.
