Today, there are expected to be debates in the Assembly, where the main issue is expected to be the file of the former FBI official, Charles McGonigal, and the accusations raised by the opposition against Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The head of the DP Group, Enkelejd Alibeaj, has requested an urgent interpellation with the head of the government.
The same request was made by Berisha’s supporters, but the latter asked the speaker of parliament, Lindita Nikolla, that the debate with the motion should not have a time limit. It remains to be seen whether the Assembly will put this request on the agenda or continue only with the urgent interpellation.
However, it is not yet known whether the head of government will participate or delegate to any of the cabinet members. Therefore, we emphasize that the Assembly excluded Berisha from the sessions for 10 days, a decision that was taken after strong clashes and blocking of the pulpit last week.
The opposition has accused the head of the government and used the meetings with the former FBI official as an “arsenal” of weapons, accusing him of lobbying through McGonigal against her.
