The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, met this Thursday with Martin McDowell. The news was announced by the embassy through a post on social networks, while the discussions they had with each other also became clear.
McDowell expressed the United States’ concern about the breach in the State Police’s TIMS system, calling for a prompt and thorough investigation. McDowell has also expressed to Minister Balla that the US is ready to support the Ministry and the Albanian State Police in their investigation.
“Embassy Tirana Chargé d’Affaires H. Martin McDowell met with Minister of Interior Taulant Balla today.
They discussed U.S.-Albania law enforcement cooperation and support on a range of security issues. CDA McDowell noted U.S. concerns regarding the reported TIMS systems breach at the Albanian State Police.
He urged a swift, thorough investigation and stressed the importance of protecting private/sensitive data, including that of American citizens in Albania. McDowell also told Minister Balla that the United States was ready to support the Ministry and Albanian State Police in their investigation.”
