The Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu visited the citizens hospitalized in Kruja due to poisoning. She said that among the patients are children and adolescents. From Sunday until today, according to the minister, about 370 people have been treated in the hospital.
There are currently 30 people in the hospital. The Minister said that all structures of the Ministry of Health are on standby and are conducting investigations on all possible tracks. Manastirliu announced the sampling and laboratory tests will be out in 24 to 72 hours.
“Water and food samples have been taken, the investigation is being done in all aspects. The result of microbiological analysis has a certain deadline, when we have the results we will have a detailed report. The whole health system is on full alert. If there will be additional cases in the hospital of Durrës, it can be decided on the cases. The investigation is done on many tracks so that we have control over the entire aspect of health care.
There are suspicions that the poisoning was caused by drinking water, and despite the growing number of citizens who go to the emergency room for medical assistance, the minister said that the situation is under control. The Minister announced that measures have been taken that if there are additional cases, not only the hospital of Kruja, but also that of Durrës will be placed on standby.
