The situation of poisoning in Kruja continues to be worrying even today. Residents who showed signs of poisoning have come to the Kruja hospital for medical care even today. Despite knowing that the poisoning may have come from the water, residents consumed the reserve water they kept at home, one of the hospital doctors told ABC.

In total about 500 residents presented with symptoms of poisoning in the emergency room. And from last afternoon until now there are about 150 people who have been presented to the hospital for treatment. There are currently several people hospitalized. According to doctors, the flow to the hospital seems to have decreased today, compared to the first two days, leading to an improvement in the situation. On the other hand, the guard says that a large number of people went to the hospital during the night.

The mixing of sewage with white water is suspected to have caused mass poisoning of residents in Kruja. This was the statement made by the Kruja Water Supply and where he said that from the preliminary data of the physico-chemical analysis so far, it is suspected that the heavy rains, especially in the Kruja Highlands where the water supply canals are located, have brought contamination of drinking water. The presence of ammonia above the norm has been previously established. Ammonia is mainly found in wastewater and heavy rainfall is suspected to have mixed with drinking water.

However, this case remains to be verified as periodic analyzes performed by LGU laboratories before this period, have resulted in optimal rates. One day after the mass poisoning in Kruja, residents have started buying water for consumption, due to suspicions that the poisoning was caused by drinking water.

The main signs of citizens who have had problems have been vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and fever. Minister Ogerta Manastirliu said yesterday that all structures of the Ministry of Health and Health are on standby and are conducting investigations on all possible tracks.

Within 72 hours, the answer to the analysis for the water consumed by the residents is expected to come out. So far all source analyzes have been performed. The whole city of Kruja is supplied by two sources which are divided into 6 warehouses. Meanwhile, in addition to the guards, the hospital also asked the police to prevent journalists from entering the hospital premises.
