The President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, addressed the Assembly of Kosovo in a solemn session for the 25th anniversary of liberation. He emphasized that this anniversary is sacred for the Albanian people. He added that Kosovo was not alone, but on its way it had the support of its allies such as the USA, Great Britain, the EU and NATO.
“Holy anniversary for Albanians. We bow with reverence before the martyrs and prominent figures. Today we honor Ibrahim Rugova, the architect of Independence, the symbol of peaceful resistance. Today we honor Adem Demaç, the centrist activity of the national issue. Today we bow before the Jashars, the family symbol of martyrdom for independent Kosovo.
KLA fighters gave their lives to free and independent Kosovo. Kosovo was not alone. Hundreds of brothers from Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia and the Diaspora joined the fight. Albania opened its heart and doors to the brothers and sisters expelled by Milosevic’s ethnic cleansing and genocide. Kosovo was not alone! The USA, the UK, the EU and NATO, the strong supporters of its cause,’ he said.
