The CLC has been convened since the early hours of the morning. Until this moment, the CLC is holding the meeting to evaluate 3 candidacies for Chief Prosecutor.
According to journalist Glidona Daci for abcnews.al, the meeting was held in tones and harshly debate among the members of the CLC.
In the meanwhile, the ranking of points according to the evaluation of CLC is:
1.Olsjan Çela with 459 points
2.Arta Marku with 406 points
3.Fatjona Memçaj with 362 points
Each of the prosecutors can appeal the decision of the CLC to the administrative court of appeal .But as provided by law, the final stage for the selection of the Chief Prosecutor is up to the Assembly.
Yesterday the CLC listened to the programs in three sessions and the vision of the candidates for Chief Prosecutor.
The first to appear in front of CLC was Arta Marku, who began her speech by talking about her past and experience.
Mark told members of the CLC that if she will be elected a full-time Chief Prosecutor, it would improve job performance, increase public confidence in the prosecution system, and work for complete and accurate statistical indicators.
The second to appear in front of the Council was Tirana Appeal Prosecutor Fatjona Memcaj.
Fatjona had supported her platform in monitoring the work of prosecutors and solving any problems they may have.
The prosecutor further said that the role of the Chief Prosecutor is to ensure that the law is respected.
Serious Crimes Prosecutor Olsian Cela was the last to appear in front of CLC and laid out his platform.
Cela said that if he were the Chief Prosecutor, he would make radical changes to the institution, making it more interactive.
The prosecutor in his program had identified a number of problems, some considered “chronic” by the system and some others newly created.
On his platform, the Serious Crimes Prosecutor said he would establish cooperation with several institutions and monitor the work of prosecutors, where he would hold a meeting with chiefs of prosecution offices every 4 months./abcnews.al
