Gunshots were recorded this Friday on the Albania-Kosovo border, between a structured criminal group transporting illegal immigrants and police officers in Morina.
In the framework of the operation organized by the Kukës Local Police Directorate, the Border Police of DVKM Kukës and the Kosovo Police, it became possible to arrest 6 Syrian and Algerian citizens.
The arrested are Ayoub Bahhoo, Muhaned Nasir, Nagid Alabdahah, Muhamed Shehab, Mohamed Radaëin and Rabii Lqadi, as well as the wanted citizen Sultan Grimashi.
According to the police, as part of this operation, a structured criminal group was hit that organized and managed a network of international traffic of immigrants from third countries, from Greece to Albania, Kosovo and Serbia, with the final destination being EU countries.
In the police announcement, it is stated that in an attempt to escape the Police, some of these citizens opened fire on the Police officers, seriously endangering the lives of the Police officers.
Meanwhile, the control of the area continues to find the firearms used in this case, as well as to capture the wanted citizen.
The services of the DVP Kukës, in cooperation with the Border Police of PKK Morina, following the work to attack the criminal activity of providing assistance to immigrants, for illegal crossing of the border, based on the information provided about a well-structured criminal group that organized and led this criminal activity, against the profits, they organized and developed the coded police operation “Structuring”.
The event took place in the village of Morina, on the green border with Kosovo, where the Police services have located the group of foreign nationals who carried out the criminal activity of providing assistance to immigrants from third countries, for illegal crossing of the border.
The Police Services have appealed to these citizens to stop, but some of them have opened fire in the direction of the Police officers, seriously endangering the lives of the Police officers.
Operation “Structuring” continues to find the firearms used in this case, as well as to capture the wanted Algerian citizen.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Kukës, for further actions.
