Valter Bami, who was arrested late on Thursday evening by Tirana police, has again denied being a participant in the assassination of Gentian Bejtja where Ramazan Sino lost his life.
During the interrogation at the Tirana police department, Bami said that when the incident happened he was staying at home. But sources from the police say that they are convinced that the 37-year-old shot that night in Larushka.
Evidence of gunpowder marks was made in an electronic microscope, which was decisive for issuing the arrest warrant for Bami. So far, there is only one charge against him, that of carrying a weapon without a permit.
Along with Bami, two other people who were in Bami’s company were accompanied to the police. After being interrogated, they are expected to be released as no charges have been filed against them. It is learned that the trace of gunpowder was found on his wrist.
Bami had gloves on his hands and the part of the fingers and the palm came out clean without gunpowder residue. Bejtja’s brother-in-law, Ramazan Sino, was killed in the assassination a few days ago in Larushk, Kruja, while his two minor children were injured.
