On Tuesday, the winning project was presented by the Israeli studio “Kimmel Eshkolot Architects”, a museum that will open in Vlora and will show documented the rare Albanian story of the rescue of Jews in the dark years of the Holocaust.
In his speech, Prime Minister Rama emphasized that one of the most missing things in the entire territory of our country is a museum of an extraordinary history and perhaps one of the most golden pages of the history of Albanians, which is the story of the salvation of the Jews for which in this country there is no address yet. “I am really pleased that today we take another step towards creating the first address of this story, a Jewish museum in Vlora where there was an important Jewish community and where is the opportunity to set up such a structure in the neighborhood, where it was focused the Jewish community of Vlora “, said Rama.
In his speech, AADF President Michale Granoff affirmed that this museum has the opportunity and potential to be a symbol, that can make proud people all over the world. “It is an example for Albanians not only to learn something about their history, but also something to have the pride and opportunity for people to visit Albania and learn something about the cultural heritage of this country, which they probably did not know existed.” he said.
