Italy has officially requested the extradition of Bujar Sejdinaj, known also as the “Uncle”, after he was arrested in July for 20 kg of cocaine in Spain.

Sejdinaj is labeled as the representative of “Ndrangheta”, the famous Italian mafia organization, for the Balkans and Albania but also as a representative of the mafia family “Bellocco”.

The request for extradition arrived two days ago at the Albanian Ministry of Justice, which forwarded it to the General Prosecutor’s Office. The latter must give it to the relevant prosecutor, who must submit it to the Court for a decision.

Bujar Sejdinaj has testified that he has nothing to do with Ndrangheta, as he is a carpenter and has only been to Italy once.

He was arrested during an operation in several countries such as Costa Rica, Argentina, Italy and Albania after negotiations for the purchase of 20 kg of cocaine in Spain./abcnews.al
