An Italian citizen has been arrested from Vlora police, after being declared internationally wanted for the criminal offense “Financial Fraud”.
His provisional arrest was made by the structures of Local Police Directorate of Vlora (DVP), in cooperation with Interpol Tirana, for the purpose of extradition to Italy.
“From the Section for Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime, in cooperation with the Operational Force in DVP Vlora and FAST Albania, following the work to apprehend persons declared internationally wanted, as a result of the continuous exchange of information with the Interpol Tirana, made possible the localization and provisional arrest of the Italian citizen Paolo Ali, 61 years old, resident in the neighborhood “1 Maji”, Vlora.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, after the Court of Appeals in Milan, Italy, with the decision dated 08.07.2020, sentenced him to 12 years, 10 months and 20 days in prison, for the criminal offense “Financial Fraud”, provided by the Italian Criminal Code.
Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, follows the procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Italy,” announced the police./abcnews.al
