The general secretary of Interpol, Jurgen Stosk, spoke about the fight against crime at the European Interpol conference held in Tirana. He emphasized that a good cooperation is needed to achieve the expected results. He also appreciated the cooperation of Albania, adding that it has been ready for the exchange of information to identify criminals.
“Albania has played an important role in identifying criminals. It takes cooperation to fight crime and that’s why Interpol is here. We want to make sure there are no safe havens for criminals. We want to show them that we are here. As together we become stronger, but we are seeing that crime is spreading. In Tirana we are discussing that we can improve all institutions to identify criminals.
Albania is active in the information service and part of all collaborations to stop impunity”, he said. He further added that the exchange of information is very important for identifying and fighting crime. “Coordinating operations is a priority and we have had excellent cooperation with Albania to hit crime where it hurts the most”, he added. /abcnews.al/
