The interceptions of the Prosecutor’s Office of Tirana for 8 police officers, who took bribes from 50 to 500 euros, to allow the passage to the countries of the European Union, of persons who were not allowed to pass to these countries, were uncovered. The scheme was discovered by tapping the cell phone of Enea Sulejmanaj, who is now under arrest.
Sulejmanaj was the owner of a tourist agency “Bus Albania”, who kept in constant contact with Terezi, to whom he sent data and travel documents of persons who were not allowed to travel to EU countries.
Sulemanaj communicates with inspector Briken Tereziu, where in any case, he asks him first if he is at work and for each person, he sends him the documents of the people who wanted the transition to the EU.
The officer requested data about them in the TIMS system, to verify if they meet the conditions to travel. Afterwards, officer Terziu informed the former head of Intercity Transport about the problems faced by people waiting for tickets.
