Speaking about the epidemiological situation in the country, Manastirliu said:
“The epidemiological data of the last two weeks show an increase of about 5 times the cases of infections compared to the previous period. There are 84 patients in the Infectious Diseases Hospital. Some of them are in more serious condition and are being treated in intensive therapy.
The common denominator of most patients these August days, who are suffering from even the most severe forms of the disease, is that they are not vaccinated. Doctors who serve with dedication at the Infectious Diseases Hospital report that during this period there have been some cases of inpatients who have been vaccinated, but are optimistic about the health of the vast majority of patients who have been vaccinated and have prepared the body for coping. with the virus “, said Manastirliu.
In her video message, Manastirliu has indicated that all measures have been taken to cope with the arrival of another wave of coronavirus.
“In our plan to deal with Covid, according to the scenarios designed by our experts, we have foreseen all measures and interventions, to respond with strengthened capacities, at all levels of our health system to the dynamic situation of the Covid epidemic19. We are prepared to add staff in the service of testing and vaccination, as well as the treatment of patients who will need medical care. At the Institute of Public Health we are increasing the testing capacities with new laboratory equipment. “The fleet of ambulances of the National Emergency will be increased again with 20 new ambulances, in order to respond even faster, even better, to the potential flows in the coming months”, said Manastirliu.
