Head of Socialist Party’s (SP) parliamentary group, Bledi Çuçi spoke about this Thursday’s tensions in the Assembly. During his speech in a communication to the media, Cuci said that everything is done only to protect former Prime Minister Berisha.
According to him, the opposition’s request for the establishment of Investigative Commissions are simply reasons to create chaos in the Assembly.
“They want to burn the parliament to protect Mr. Berisha. This is not a matter of desire but a matter of law enforcement. We are exercising the sovereignty that the Albanians have delegated to us. Bardhi certainly has this trouble to create in the plenary sessions and it is ridiculous to think that he will come to think about removing the immunity of Sali Berisha”, said Cuci.
Today’s session in the Assembly lasted only 8 minutes.
Amidst the smoke, the SP approved today with 74 votes in favor the new regulation which excludes for 2 months the deputies who cause chaos in the Assembly by preventing the normal development of the session.
At the beginning of the session, opposition MPs tried to enter the Assembly, but were not allowed by the Guard.
At the entrance of the Assembly, the MPs of the Pulpit clashed with the Guard, while the glass of the entrance door of the Assembly was also broken.
