ABC News has revealed debates from the Political Council meeting. The General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, stated at the meeting that the Socialist Party intends to reopen the discussion on 5th June agreement, even though was approved by the consensus of all parties.
He said that the DP stands by its signature, emphasizing that the request of the SP contradicts the agreement reached by the parties.
“We understood from the discussion of the Chairman of the Socialist Party that the goal is to reopen once again the discussion on the content of 5th June agreement and to make the right changes. The draft agreement of 5 June is the product of a 6-month joint work, approved and signed by consensus of all parties, with the support of international partners.
Also, in the meetings of the Political Council, but also during the discussions at the Residence of the US Ambassador, the official representative of the Socialist Party did not give consensus on changing the electoral system and agreed that this issue can not be discussed now, but in a later stage, Bardhi stated./abcnews.al
