Seven countries have addressed a letter to the European Union requesting the fastest possible integration into the Western Balkans Union. The letter, which is addressed to the heads of the institutions of the union, bears the signature of the foreign ministers of Italy, the Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Greece.

Greece seems to have changed its attitude towards Albania’s European path, which it has threatened to block if the “Beleri” issue is not resolved. In the letter, it is said that the time has come for decisive progress in the EU enlargement process towards the Western Balkans and that “a clear and reasonable time for their admission is more urgent than ever”.

They also emphasize that they welcome the new growth plan, the summit that was held on Thursday in Tirana.
