Public Service Commissioner Darjel Sina has been appointed a member of the Supreme Court by President Ilir Meta. With this new appointment, from today the Supreme Court is made with 12 (twelve) judges, out of 19 that this court should have.
Prior to this decree, the president reiterated that the High Judicial Council has delays in filling the Supreme Court with all the necessary judicial body.
“The President of the Republic, despite this decree, strongly reiterates his reservation regarding the activity of the High Judicial Council, on the delays in filling the High Court with all the necessary judicial body”, it is said in the reaction of the presidency.
The filling of this vacancy in the High Court has lasted exactly 2 (two) years and 7 (seven) months, (September 2019-April 2022). “This shows that the duration of the procedures followed by the HJC is unacceptable, beyond any legal and reasonable deadline,” the presidency wrote.
