Former Vice Prime Minister, Arben Ahmetaj has opposed the decision on his house’s checks in the Constitutional Court, arguing that they are illegal. Through his defense lawyers, the former number two of the government appealed to the Constitutional Court the control of the cohabitant’s apartment.

He requests the annulment of the decision of the Special Court, upheld by the Appeal and the Supreme Court.

According to the complaint, the controls are in compliance with the law and unconstitutional, since there was no authorization from the Assembly, because Ahmetaj himself, who enjoyed the mandate of the deputy, lived in one of the apartments.

The defense makes four points why it considers the housing control illegal.

Ahmetaj demands from the Constitutional Court the annulment of the decision of the Supreme Court and the sending of the case for retrial in the Appeal.
