Son of Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Shkelzen Berisha spoke this Wednesday after leaving the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO), where he was questioned regarding the Gerdeci case.
In his media statement, Shkelzen Berisha declared that he has no idea who sent the fax with the inscription “for Shkelzen Berisha”, adding that it is the duty of the prosecution to find out if it is real or fabricated.
“In 2007-2008, I worked for several months in the company “Eagle Mobile”. I was out of Albania when the incident happened.
Either through the media or through family members, I learned about the event. I know Aldo Bumçi. I have friendly relations because of my involvement in politics. I have known him since 2004. Conversations with him have been personal. We have not had conversations about any VKM.
I don’t know anyone who wrote it or who received the fax. I have not filed any lawsuit, but I am aware that Bumçi has filed one.
I have known Mediu since 1994. I have a personal and friendly relationship. I have not had any talks about dismantling with Mediu. I had a conversation with Mediu on the day of the event, it was a personal conversation about illness (a member of his family). I haven’t had any conversation other than that”, said Shkelzen Berisha.
Earlier today, Shkelzen Berisha appeared at the GJKKO after being called to testify regarding the fax that Aldo Bumçi sent to the former Minister of Defense Fatmir Mediu with the note “for Shkelzen Berisha”.
