The trial of former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri is being postponed again. It has been learned that the Special Court of Appeals will decide on Friday, June 26 for the former minister.
The reason for the postponement was the request of Judge Dhimitër Lara .
He was was assigned as a lawyer in this matter only 5 days ago, to replace Judge Nure Dreni dismissed from vetting.
Lara has required for at least another 5 days to get acquainted with the acts of the file of the former minister and former director of the Vlora Police, Jaeld Çela.
Tahiri came out from the court smiling, while he refuse to give a statement to reporters.
Tahiri was sentenced a year ago to 5 years prison sentences converted to 3.4 years of probation and his sentence was commuted to abuse of office.
The Serious Crimes Prosecution has demanded 12 years prison sentences for Tahiri for 3 criminal offenses of “drug trafficking” in collaboration with a structured criminal group, “committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization”, “structured criminal group”. /abcnews.al
