Flames engulf Shkodra hospital’s surgery ward

One of the rooms of Surgery Department on the fourth floor of Shkodra Regional Hospital was engulfed by flames this Saturday morning.  Fortunately, the police confirmed that there were no injuries from the fire, despite the material damage.

Police and fire services immediately went to the scene and were able to neutralize the flames.  Meanwhile, the investigative group continues its work to clarify the cause of the fire, which is initially suspected to be accidental.

“Around 07:05, this morning, on the fourth floor of the Shkodër Regional Hospital, in one of the rooms of the Surgery Department, a fire broke out.

Police and fire services immediately went to the scene.  Timely intervention of the services made it possible to neutralize the flames, preventing the flames from spreading to other rooms as well as completely extinguishing the fire”, announced the law enforcement.
