The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi has announced that during the late hours of the night, the military base of Pasha Liman was endangered due to a fire that started again at midnight.
According to Peleshi, the fire near the area was brought under control around 20:00 last night, but resumed again in the early hours of the morning. Peleshi expressed, among other things, condolences for the victim who lost his life as a result of the fire in Gjirokastra.
Peleshi further said that Albania has asked for help from many countries while the Netherlands has been generous where a team is expected to come to see the situation closely and then to decide how much help is needed from this country.
” Two helicopters also worked at night and we are dawn in a calm situation. The night at Pasha Liman has been difficult. Around midnight a large fire broke out above Pasha Liman. Around 4 o’clock the worst is avoided. It is a military base. ” said Peleshi.
“The most serious hearth is Karaburun. Yesterday we avoided the fire from the direction of the apartments. A mountain surface has been burned and the biggest danger should be that Llogaraja is not affected. We currently have 3 helicopters.
We asked for help to Italy, Turkey, Czech Republic. The Netherlands has responded very generously. “Today we are waiting for them to send a group and talk about how they will support us.” said Peleshi further. /abcnews.al
