A fire broke out during the night on the 9th floor of a multi-storey building in the “Apollonia” neighborhood in the city of Fier. Flames are suspected to have started as a result of an electrical spark, while there was only one elderly person with vision problems in the apartment.
The fire was spotted by the elderly’s neighbors due to the smoke that quickly dispersed. They were the ones who intervened first and saved the old man.
Then, police and the fire service arrived at the scene, which made it possible to extinguish the fire. Afterwards, the elderly man, who lives alone in the apartment, was accompanied by an ambulance for a medical examination.
As a result of the fire, there were minor material damages.
