Tirana court has sentenced this Wednesday to 7 years and 9 months in prison to the former RENEA force officer, Remal Rada, who was caught with a sniper in his car a year ago in the Sauk roundabout.
According to the authorities, Elton Hikthi, who was in the vehicle with the former RENEA officer, was sentenced to 5 years. They will benefit from a reduction of the sentence by one third after being tried with a summary trial.
On his part, the former officer of RENEA Forces, Rada, was arrested on July 26, together with 28-year-old Elton Hithi, after a sniper rifle, modified for shooting at a distance of up to 2 thousand meters, was found in the car.
Rada had left RENEA, while not many had returned from England. During the search of his apartment, a pistol, two night binoculars, military ammunition (an automatic weapon magazine, 2 pistol combs) were found.
