General Affairs Council will convene in Brussels this Tuesday, in the framework of the opening negotiations between Albania and Northern Macedonia with the EU, with the physical presence of the EU Ministers of European Affairs.

Journalist Erisa Zykaj reports for ABC that it is the first time that all member states no longer have any reservations about the progress and achievement of Albania in its journey to open negotiations. According to her, it took 7 years for Albania to reach the stage where no member country had any reservations about this decision.

Secondly, ten other countries were considered that Albania did not meet the conditions and were in favor of the separation of Macedonia from Albania, which was publicly opposed by the French President, Emanuel Macron and not only.

From the contacts that the journalist has had with these 10 member states, they have confirmed that all dilemmas have already been resolved and an agreement has been reached for the opening of negotiations between Albania and the EU.

EU member states are expected to decide on the date for the first intergovernmental conference between Albania and northern Macedonia and the European Union. With just a few hours left until the meeting, Bulgaria seems to be holding Northern Macedonia hostage as there is still no signal to lift the veto on European integration, thus hindering Albania as well, as the decision so far is thought to be for both countries.

Meanwhile, the journalist suggests that the vast majority of member states do not want the first international conference to be held only with Albania, as we were only at the last moment ready for this step, so it is unfair for Northern Macedonia to be left behind. .

Meanwhile, all countries think that in this journey these two countries will be together./abcnews.al
